This Saturday Rosehill will host its most prestigious autumn race meeting, Golden Slipper Day.
As part of the action-packed line up on the day the $400, 000 Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) will run featuring 14 weight-for-age stars.
Peter Moody’s brilliant mare Typhoon Tracy is missing from the 2010 George Ryder Stakes final field, Moody instead opting to run her in Queen of the Turf Stakes at the same meeting.
Premier trainer Moody will still be represented in the George Ryder Stakes, as he attempts multiple group one victories on Saturday, by his improving Phar Lap Stakes winner Tickets.
The three-year-old Redoute’s Choice colt has drawn mid-field with barrier seven and will have skilled hoop Luke Nolen aboard.
One of the biggest winners from the barrier draw was the Mick Price-trained Heart Of Dreams who is set to start from barrier two.
The consistent Show A Heart gelding’s ideal draw will see them start as one of the favourites and they will be looking to enjoy an easier run than they had last start from barrier eight when running a gallant fourth in the Australian Cup.
The Chris Waller-trained Danleigh is another strong contender in the 2010 George Ryder Stakes and will jump from barrier six with Hugh Bowman aboard.
Veteran seven-year-old Vision and Power has drawn the prized barrier one the bay Carnegie gelding looking to secure back-to-back success in the George Ryder Stakes after claiming victory in the race last year.
The Easter Saturday race meeting at Rosehill is packed full of excellent Group 1 features including the scheduled highlight, the $3.5million Group 1 AAMI Golden Slipper (1200m) where the nation’s most promising two-year-olds will face off for the most lucrative prize for juveniles in the world.
Other headline events include the $2.25million Group 1 The BMW (2400m), the $400, 000 Group 1 Queen of the Turf Stakes (1500m) and the $400, 000 Group 1 Storm Queen Stakes (2000m) known this year as the Vinery Stud Stakes.
The 2010 Hong Kong – Asia’s World City George Ryder Stakes will run as race six on the meeting’s elite nine-event card and is due to jump at 3:10pm.
