The $1 million feature race has attracted 16 weight-for-age possible runners, including seven from Chris Waller’s stables.

The premier Sydney trainer has nominated three horses that would resume in the George Ryder Stakes if they make the final field and four that have a fitness advantage. Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m) winner Adelaide would get just his second start in Australia if he takes his place in the field, after winning the October 25 race. The four-year-old horse has finished in the first three in all eight of his career starts all over the world.

Joining Adelaide in resuming in the 2015 George Ryder Stakes could be I’m Imposing, who has placed in all three of his past starts and was last seen winning the Group 3 Summer Cup (w000m) on December 13, and Moriarty. The seven-year-old gelding enjoyed a trip to Perth during the summer racing carnival, running third in the Group 1 Railway Stakes (1600m) and winning the Group 1 Kingston Town Classic (1800m).

Waller’s fit runners include Group 2 Hobartville Stakes (1400m) placegetter Kermadec, two-time Group One runner-up over a mile Royal Descent, Group 1 George Main Stakes (1600m) winner Sacred Falls, and Group 2 Expressway Stakes (1200m) winner Weary.

Bart & James CummingsHallowed Crown has been nominated for both the George Ryder and Group 1 Rosehill Guineas (1600m) this Saturday but it’s hard to see the three-year-old colt not running against his own age again in his quest for his third consecutive win.

Other top-class horses nominated for the 2015 George Ryder Stakes include Group One winner and previous winner over the trip Shooting To Win, John Thompson’s Hooked, the David Hayes & Tom Dabernig-trained Criterion, who was last seen running third in the Group 1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) on March 7, and the winner of said race Cosmic Endeavour.

Check out the complete list of nominations below, which have been extended until 11:00am (AEDT) tomorrow.
