March 17th, 2016

Only eight runners have been confirmed in the final field for Saturday’s 2016 Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens; offering punters exceptional value from a betting standpoint and several key opportunities to place a winning wager.

Winx has returned to racing in typically slick form this time and remains clear odds-on favourite in 2016 George Ryder Stakes betting markets with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au.

Winx has been a standout performer for trainer Chris Waller through her entire racing career so far; posting an impressive eleven wins and three minors through only seventeen competitive starts.

Capping a strong autumn and winter campaign in 2015 with a maiden win at the highest level in the Group 1 Queensland Oaks (2200m), Winx returned in spring for success in the Group 2 Theo Marks Stakes (1300m) before comfortably taking out the Group 1 Epsom Handicap (1600m) on October 3rd.

Undoubtedly producing a career-best performance to date to win the Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m), the Street Cry mare has won each of the Group 2 Apollo Stakes (1400m) and Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) so far this season.

Treated very well in the weights, Winx will find a great position off pace from barrier 7 with Hugh Bowman in the saddle.

Champion three-year-old Press Statement is yet to herald much interest in 2016 George Ryder Stakes betting markets but remains outright second favourite for success at a quote of $5.

Charging home to win the Group 1 JJ Atkins (1600m) in only his third competitive start last winter, Press Statement resumed in spring for second in the Group 2 Run To The Rose (1400m) but failed to fire when fifth in the Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m).

Responding in the best way possible with success in the Group 2 Stan Fox Stakes (1500m), the Hinchinbrook colt returned to the paddock after taking out the featured Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m).

Savaging the line for success in the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes (1400m) first-up this time, Press Statement suffered a shock defeat when second to Le Romain in the Group 1 Randwick Guineas (1600m) a fortnight ago but should enjoy a relief in weights for the 2016 George Ryder Stakes.

Turn Me Loose should inject plenty of tempo into the George Ryder Stakes from the outset and arguably offers punters the best value for money at current $7.50 odds to win or $1.85 to place.

Returning to racing in 2015 for sixth in the Group 1 Makfi Challenge Stakes (1400m) on August 29th, the New Zealand native crossed the ditch for second in the Listed Paris Lane Stakes (1400m) before taking out the Listed Seymour Cup (1600m) on October 18th.

Continuing winning form through the Group 2 Crystal Mile (1600m), the Iffraaj gelding produced an impressive start-to-finish performance to win the Group 1 Emirates Stakes (1600m) on November 7th.

Tuning up for fourth in the Group 1 CF Orr Stakes (1400m) first-up this time, Turn Me Loose will carry winning form into the George Ryder Stakes after taking out the Group 1 Futurity Stakes (1400m) last time out.
